Basic Dress – A Versatile Dress for Every Occasion
With the “Basic Dress” pattern, you can sew a simple A-line dress that can also look elegant when made from the right fabrics. The dress can be sewn with a neckband or a hood, with or without flutter sleeves, and with a box pleat. Three different sleeve lengths make this dress suitable for year-round wear.
Optionally, you can choose from two different pocket variations.
The Basic Dress offers plenty of creative freedom. From panels and lace to ruffles, buttons, and more—you can customize it entirely to your style.
Fabrics
This pattern is suitable for a wide range of stretchy fabrics, such as cotton jersey, interlock jersey, viscose jersey, velour, velvet jersey, modal jersey, ponte (Romanit) jersey, French terry, summer sweat, as well as lightweight knit fabrics and thin elastic wool fabrics.
The pattern includes:
- Sizes 62–146
- The pattern in A4 format with layers for home printing and assembling
- The pattern in A0 format for projector use
- A detailed step-by-step instruction suitable for beginners with sewing experience as well as advanced sewists
- Seam and hem allowances are not included
- The projector file may include pattern pieces placed on the fold
